To Touch and Be Touched: Presence & Pleasure

With Marlene Bovenmars

In this workshop, we’ll unpack the most universally craved yet strangely mysterious experiences of being human: touch. Not the “quick hug while balancing groceries” kind - but the attuned, unhurried, oh-my-nervous-system-needed-that kind. The kind that melts tension, boosts connection, and makes your body whisper, “Yes… THAT.” If touch sometimes feels awkward, confusing, or like something you should magically know how to do, you’re definitely not alone.

Together, we’ll explore why so many of us feel touch-hungry, what actually makes touch feel good (or not), and how to move from “I guess this is fine” into “wow”. You’ll discover the difference between wanting and being willing, why slowing down changes everything, and how to ask for the kind of touch you truly crave - without apologising, overthinking, or waiting for someone to read your mind (they won’t!). And yes, we’ll also cover how to offer touch that feels attuned and deeply welcome instead of “hope-for-the-best” hand choreography.

Expect playful exercises, surprising insights, a few nervous-system epiphanies, and at least one “how did I go this long without learning this?!” moment. This Intimitea edition weaves wisdom from leading touch educators with embodied, hands-on practice so your body finally learns what your brain has been trying to decode since approximately forever. Come curious and leave more connected - to yourself, to others, and to the deep pleasure of feeling at home in your body.

Come with someone or come solo

You’re welcome to explore the touch exercises with a partner, friend, or family member. If you join by yourself, you can choose if you'd like to pair up with another solo participant if there is someone you'd feel comfortable with. There will be no pressure to pair up. Prefer to simply learn, be inspired, witness and keep the exercises for home exploration? Also, an option!

Create Your Vision

with Jaime Moar

We put a lot of pressure on the New Year. We feel the need to make resolutions, to transform and make significant changes in our lives, to implement life-changing habits that actually stick. Yet the reality is, these self-imposed changes often come from a place of logic, from a place of ‘shoulds.’ We feel pressure from the outside to make our lives look a certain way, and that is what we think we need to strive for. New Year, new you, right? Wrong! In fact, you are wonderful.

Which is why we’ve created an afternoon for you to spend time with yourself. To drop out of your head and into your body. An evening of presence, vision boarding, and gathering in community to set in motion a life that comes from your true desires. This will be a safe space to let go of your inhibitions and to dream freely, openly, and honestly.

Dress comfortably and bring a journal and your favourite mug. Everything necessary for the vision board crafting will be provided, but if you have extra magazines at home, feel free to bring them!
