UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

From Angst to Agency

with Diane Rollert

In anxious times, anxiety can feel like the background hum of everyday life. We worry about our relationships, our communities, our futures, and the changes unfolding around us. This workshop invites you to pause, turn toward that angst with curiosity, and begin transforming it into agency.

Led by Diane Rollert, From Angst to Agency combines centering practices, gentle movement, group exercises, and time for personal reflection. Using the framework of family systems theory, we’ll explore how we, as individuals, families, and communities, respond to worry, fear, and change, and how those patterns shape how we move through the world.

Humans are wired to be alert to danger, so feeling anxious is not a personal failing. It’s a deeply human response. The question is not how to eliminate anxiety, but how to understand it, relate to it differently, and find steadiness within it. This workshop introduces practical building blocks for reducing anxiety and drawing strength from our own histories.

Participants often describe this workshop as both a profound personal experience and a powerful community-building one. You’ll leave with greater insight into your own reactions to anxiety, along with tools to feel more grounded, resourced, and in control in anxious times.

There will be some movement, with accommodations available for differing physical needs. All that’s asked is an open mind and a willingness to share space and reflection with others.

Ashtanga Fundamentals
From the Ground Up

This immersive three-hour workshop explores the foundational elements that give the Ashtanga practice its depth, structure, and transformative power. Designed for newer practitioners and teachers alike, this session will help you better understand not only how to practice, but why the practice is structured the way it is.

Together, we will explore the core pillars of Ashtanga Yoga, including the concept of Tristana (breath, posture, and gaze), the mechanics and purpose of Ujjayi breath, and the importance of cultivating stability through grounded femurs and functional alignment.

We will break down foundational postures such as Samasthiti and Dandasana, examine the role and intelligence behind the vinyasa, and unpack the structure and intention of the Sun Salutations. The workshop will also introduce students to the traditional opening and closing chants, as well as the etiquette, lineage, and traditions that help preserve the integrity of this practice.

Expect a combination of discussion, posture exploration, practical application, and space for questions. This workshop is ideal for anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of Ashtanga Yoga and build a more sustainable, informed, and connected practice.
